"Invasion of Drones" by Patricia Smith Response

In "Invasion of the Drones" by Patricia Smith, the author talks about drones and how they're affecting our lives. The author talks about their effects on privacy and what does this mean for you. She also talks about the safety aspect of drones and how and what they can do to the average person. The author then talks about how the military is getting impacted. The author overall informs the reader on how drones affect day to day life along with the life of many. The author uses many techniques to achieve this goal such as using counter claims, background info, quoted experts, uses facts to support her claim ans used purposeful vocab. The author uses a overall great strategy to engage and inform the reader.
The author talks about how when it comes to safety and drones things still need to be learned. She talks about how on many occasions drones have crashed into planes and have gone out of control. She talks about that maybe new federal laws may make it law to have to have a licence to drive a drone. She also talks about privacy. Law enforcers are starting to use drone to see into peoples properties to look for illegal activity, but does this infringe on our 4th amendment rights? Many still argue about this. When it comes to the militarily aspects of drones the author has a lot to say. The author talks about how a military personnel can take out a target thousands of miles away. Which brings up two questions that the author talks about. Does this make war to 'easy' and does it feel like a video game and not a battlefield? Are human casualties much more likely with these unmanned drone attacks? These questions made me think. Which engaged me to the article like the author intended. The author engaged and informed me on drones.
All in all, the author used a overall great strategy  to engage and inform me, as well as other readers. She talked about drones and the affects they have on us. Such as the privacy, safety and military aspects. She also used great writing techniques to help support her claim. She structured her article well and made it a must read. The author used strong vocabulary, great structure and showed her true talent to make an article that will truly inspire a new generation of thinkers.

Jin rejects people that are trying to help. When his friend Wei-Chen tries to help him along Jin gets mad at him and leaves him. When his parents try to help him he simply ignores them. He does not want people to think he needs help so he pushes them away, but that just makes people want to help him even more then they already do. Jin wants to change but he should stay the same.

In conclusion, Jin tries to fit in when people only see him as Chinese. He tries to change who he is, he rejects people trying to help him and deals with racial stereotypes. He tries to change who he is. He eventually should have accepted what he had.
